1922
Chalk Well Drilling Is Established
George Sydney Chalk established Chalk Well Drilling Ltd.
Drill Rig In The 1920's
The drill rig was towed by horses and run by an upright single cylinder motor.
Services Way Back Then
At that time the area covered was within 120 miles of the shop and went from Brockville to Oshawa. Often, the drillers had to board on site until the job was complete.
1955
Business Passed Down
George Sydney passed the business onto his son George Herbert Chalk.
1989
The Legacy Continues
George Herbert continued to drill until 1989, when his sons George Reynolds Chalk, Ian Chalk and Kevin Chalk took over the family business.
Chalk Well Drilling Today
They continue to drill today along with their sons.
